Losing Steam.

Hence, Memorial Day pics posted at the end of June. My body's really feeling it this pregnancy...mostly in my lower back. I need to get that belly band I bought with Ruby...where did I put it? Can you believe I am nearly 34 weeks! I'm really look forward to August, and not just to be rid of these aches and pains, but mostly to meet my little babe. And especially to find out the gender of this little tyke. It has been so fun not knowing the gender...I highly recommend keeping it a secret until the end. I wish I would have done it with my other kiddos. Will Ruby's instincts be right? We'll she have a baby sister? Lately, I've been leaning a little towards a boy....so has my sis, McCall. Nothing better than a good surprise!

**I'm hoping for some more sporadic posts of past events, so I don't forget they happened. When I have the will, that is.

Why Ruby's Dad Rocks!

{Ruby carefully picking out a movie with her daddy}

He sets up the tent and blows up the air mattress for a little backyard campout. And let's Ruby choose whatever movie she wants. So be it, we all got to enjoy "The Care Bear Movie" snuggled close together. Ruby was in heaven. I may have been pretty pleased myself (minus having to watch the Care Bear movie :).

Happy Father's Day Hugh!

And a shout out to the other great dads in Ruby's life..."Butka" Scott and "Butka" Sterling. We are all so blessed to have these two in our lives. I'm glad we have these holidays to reflect on the important people who help us get through this crazy thing called life.

Summer is in full swing.

Enjoying ourselves at Wheeler Farm with Jasmine, Astrid, and Thomas.

Ruby and Astrid excited about their twinner nalgene's....and Thomas being his cute self.

Petting the animals...Ruby and Astrid had no fear of the animals.

Ruby brought her own "video camera" to document the outing.

Ruby loves her cousins. She' always asking when she can go play with them.

Ruby took her first session of swim lessons. Overall, she did well. Still not a big fan of putting her head under or blowing bubbles. She was always quick to tell Ms. Lauren up front, "I'm not going to blow bubbles." It was a positive experience and Ruby wanted to go back each day...success in my book. Thanks to Jess for inviting Ruby! We had fun with cute Graham and Owen.

It doesn't get much cuter...

Ruby showing off her new bike riding skills...while insisting on wearing my sunglasses and wearing her backpack.

She told me she was going to the "movie featre"

McCall and I were cheering her on saying, "Looks she's really riding" so when the incline was too much and she ran out of steam Ruby replied, "Ope, I'm not riding."

Made it to her destination...the pretend movie theatre. Enjoying her pretend movie and swig of water. We have been pretending all day long, around these parts.

MCCALL'S A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE!
pinch me...it can't be true.
I remember the day she was born.

My baby sister graduated from High School on Tuesday and to celebrate...Ruby and I finally bought some High School Musical tunes and danced our hearts out in honor of McCall. It was just the two of us jamming (and my out of shape pregnant self really felt my heart pumping) and it was awesome.

But, in all seriousness, I am proud of McCall for all her hard work and very excited for her adventures at BYU this coming fall! Her creativity never ceases to amaze me, and her example of kindness and giving others the benefit of the doubt always makes me want to be better. It seems like yesterday she was born and my dad came to pick Mal and I up from school to go meet our newest sister. McCall is the perfect caboose for our family. We sure love her.

And as I'm writing this, I realize I never mentioned how awesome my sister Mal is for completing her Master's Degree this year in Marriage Family Therapy from BYU. Talk about hard work and dedication! I remember when she came to BYU as a freshman and all the lunches we shared in the Wilkinson Center...me, her, and her ginormous backpack. Not to mention the good times spent working together at Nordstrom in University Mall; Mal in Men's Sportwear and me in The Rail. If you ever get a chance, ask Mal about the piece of work trying to return worn-out Lucky Jeans. Let's just say, I had her back :). Mal, you've come a long way from your days of stressing about what to study. I have no doubt you chose the perfect fit. How did I get so lucky to have two wonderful and talented sisters and best friends? I do hope Ruby is lucky enough to have a sister someday...I am sure proud of the two I've been blessed with.

**And Mal...during our dance session, I thought of you and realized we still need to learn the dance from the above HSM clip...it's our summer, baby :)

Look, Mom...I'm Rapunzel!

This is Ruby's makeshift Rapunzel wig. Complete with princess ribbon she picked out at Hobby Lobby to keep it in place.

Even princesses must eat. And make a mess!

**This update is for you, Mal**
