Time.

Why is time going so fast? I can hardly believe it is almost June! I've been so lazy about documenting our lives these days. A few weeks back, Ruby and I went through some of the posts I wrote when she was Hank's age. It was fun for both us! I was reminded of her cute nature and the funny things she said, and Ruby loved reading about herself as a baby. It made me want to do a better job of documenting the happenings of our family.

These pictures were taken back in April during General Conference. Ruby and Hank are doing some conference crafts that Ruby and I picked out. I love these pictures because they remind me how content I felt that Sunday morning sitting in our little condo, feeling the spirit of conference, watching my two kiddos enjoy some quiet time together (granted, it didn't last long), and feeling very blessed for my little family and for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.

Merry Christmas from ours to yours.

{Newport Beach. November 2012}

In light of the recent events in Connecticut, and all the wars, struggles, sadness, and difficulties that continue to rage around the world, the last two verses of I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day have really meant a lot to me this Christmas season.

And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no peace on earth," I said;

"For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;

The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men."

How grateful our family is for the knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The only one that can and will heal all the wrongs, difficulties, and struggles this life brings. I know this.

Merry Christmas and all the best in 2013!

I love my sisters.

And enjoyed spending the entire weekend with them. The combination of great company, delicious food (thanks Mal for the panini's), and inspiring conference talks, really gave me the lift my tired self has needed. Although I'm still tired, I have been re-energized to take on another week of motherhood. I love the Gospel and I love my family.

Easter 20011.

Hughie has been on mind this weekend as I have been preparing for Easter tomorrow. I was getting Ruby's basket put together tonight and I couldn't help the huge smile on my face, which I didn't realize until Hugh said, "You are really excited for her to find that tomorrow." And he's right, I can't wait to see her little face light up as she surveys her goodies. Ruby and I also had fun picking out a few things for Hughie's grave. But, more importantly, I hope Ruby grows up understanding the real reason we celebrate Easter. Since Hughie's passing, my knowledge of Jesus Christ's resurrection has been a real source of peace for me during my mourning. As hard as it will be each year as Hughie's passing anniversary comes around, what a celebration Easter is to remember that just as Christ lives, so will my sweet son.

Tonight to open our Stake Conference, we sang "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". This has always been one of my favorite hymns. My sister Mal sang this at my Grandpa Meyer's funeral and I accompanied her. Once again, I was overcome with peace tonight as I sang this hymn with so many of my fellow saints. I was glad to be in the congregation. And even more grateful to celebrate Easter tomorrow. When I see Ruby's eyes light up when she find her Easter basket, it will remind me of the greater gift of Christ's Atonement and Resurrection. Which will then remind me of my Hughie.
