These three...melting my heart.

Hank is 5 months and growing...

He loves having something in his hands...
...which usually proceeds to his mouth

He drools like it's nobody's business...
...and recently started eating rice cereal and sweet potatoes

He's not too fond of the cereal...
...but likes the sweet potatoes (but at night...his tummy, not so much)

He smiles, laughs, and jabbers...
...alot

He likes grabbing our faces...
...then pulling us close to take a big bite

He likes being part of the action, and
gets upset if he gets put down when things are going on...
...but quickly calms once he is picked-up

Is just getting acquainted with his crib...
...he's not so sure about it (Ruby on the other hand, is thrilled at
the prospects of having a roommate)

He has the most infectious sweetness about him...
...and we just love him so

The best of part about working nights.

Is coming home to this in the morning. They even left a spot for me...I sure love these three.

And speaking of mornings...a few days ago, Ruby asked for her "Captain Moroni" cereal. (I assumed she was talking about the captain crunch she begged for at the grocery store.) It's proof she's learning stuff in Primary, because we haven't made it past the first few chapters of the Book of Mormon in our family read....and we've been trying at it for months now :).

Sundays.

I always look forward to them. Especially when Hank is wearing his bow-tie.

Hank in his first real church outfit from Grandma Suzi (bow-tie made by McCall).
...nice change from his usual sweats and striped onesie.

Ruby and Hank after Ruby's first day in Primary...she loves it!

And, we all love Call.

By the end of another week, I am usually in need of a re-charge and a reminder of what makes my life full. Going to church each week does this for me and I almost always leave feeling uplifted and ready to take on another week. Ruby feels it to...she frequently asks when she gets to go back to Primary.

A few weeks back I was told that while the Primary was singing, Scripture Power, Ruby scrambled through her bag to pull out her Book of Mormon. By the time she got it out, the song was over. Too funny. And too bad they couldn't sing it again.

Santa Came!

And brought Ruby her very own play tent. She thought it was funny that Santa had it all set-up.
Ruby did notice that Santa used our wrapping paper, and was a bit confused by it. I told her that I let Santa borrow some...this answer sufficed. Santa even left her a little note...she thought that was pretty special.

Opening gifts from Grandpa Scott. She LOVED the scrubs and doctor kit he gave her. She pretty much wore the scrubs all day, and for the entire week following Christmas. Just like mom, she tells me she needs to take a nap before she goes to work. My favorite is when she gets on the phone from the kit and says, "Hurry doctor, come in, someone's sick. It's a 'mergency!"

Hank enjoying his goodies, while cuddling up with Aunt Mal.

Before heading off to church. Hank and Ruby wearing their new clothes from Aunt Mal.

The aftermath: scene 1

...and scene 2
Watching Horton Hears a Who that Santa left in Ruby's stocking.

We then concluded our Christmas festivities at my mom's house. It was just perfect. We opened gifts, played more doctor, and enjoyed a yummy meal.

Here's Ruby opening her awesome Rapunzel dress that Aunt Call made for her. Yes, she made it from scratch, and it is so darling.

It was the only thing that got Ruby out of her scrubs :)

Christmas Eve with the VW's (and the Christopherson's).

Activities were done...

Nain and Gwen orchestrated the Nativity and organized all the cousins into each role. Ruby and Thomas were the not so compliant shepherds, while Mary (Astrid) and Joseph (Smee) played their parts well. And sweet little Hank was perfectly asleep while he played baby Jesus.

Christmas songs were sung while Mike strummed the guitar...

...along with some dancing.

Then things settled down with a read of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas...

...and in true VW style, a movie (Puss in Boots).

Gifts were opened...

Hank and Grandma Marilee

Ruby opening her gift from Gwen.

Ruby pleased with her gift from Gwen. We love Charlie Brown around these parts.

Gwen opening her Gift from Hank. Nice job, Hank...I think she liked it.

Thomas with his Gift from Ruby. She was pleased to give it to him...she even wrapped it herself.

Hank got some quality Nana time.

We love our VW family!
